“Nancy Pelosi D’Alesandro Confirmation Family Portrait – In 2018 a client asked our studio to restore this painting of the Speaker of House, Nancy Pelosi, @speakerpelosi and her family, who was born and raised in #littleitalybaltimore Her father, Thomas D’Alesandro Jr. and her brother were former mayors of #baltimore This painting depicts Ms. Pelosi in her white confirmation dress surrounded by her parents and siblings. Our studio works on a lot of #conservation projects and #restoration commissions. This painting was a lot of fun to work on based on its historical value as well as the fine craftsmanship by the artist of the piece, Harvey Brownson. Mr. Brownson was an American portrait painter post and pre WWII.

The painting was abandoned in the former home of Ms. Pelosi and discarded to the side during demolition work and rehab of her former home by contractors. By the time the painting reached our studio it had over 2 dozen rips and holes in it as well as the frame falling apart. The painting had to be cleaned and reinforced with a back lining. Some of the portraits had to be in-painted and recreated.”

Il nonno materno, Nicola Lombardi, era originario di Fornelli, in provincia di Isernia, nel Molise e il nonno paterno, Tommaso G. D’Alessandro, era originario di Montenerodomo, piccolo centro in provincia di Chieti in Abruzzo.
